How to Top Up Your SMS Activate App Balance

Updated

This tutorial is for anyone who wants to fund an SMS Activate App account before renting a private phone number. By the end you will know how to add money to your balance with a bank card or cryptocurrency, and what to check so the funds land where you expect them.

What you need

Steps

  1. Open the balance section

Sign in to SMS Activate App on the website or open the bot in Telegram, then find the balance section. This is where your current balance is shown and where every top-up starts. Check the figure before you add anything, so you know exactly what the payment will change.

Tip: Keep the balance section open in one tab while you pay in another, so you can refresh it once the payment is done.

  2. Choose how you want to pay

Pick the payment method that suits you: a bank card or cryptocurrency. Both add funds to the same SMS Activate App balance, so the choice is only about which route is easier for you. Note the currency the payment screen shows, since your bank or wallet may convert it.

  3. Check the details before you confirm

Read the amount and the account it is going to before you approve anything. Make sure you are paying into your own SMS Activate App balance, and that the figure matches what you intended to add. If the payment page asks for extra details, fill them in exactly as they appear on your card or wallet.

Tip: Payments are easier to trace later if the amount is a figure you will recognise on a statement.

  4. Complete the payment

Follow the steps your bank or wallet shows and approve the transaction. Card payments usually ask for a confirmation through your banking app or a code, while cryptocurrency payments ask you to send the amount to the address shown. Copy the address carefully if you pay with crypto, because transfers cannot be recalled.

  5. Confirm the balance has changed

Go back to the balance section and refresh it. The new figure should include your top-up, and from there the money is ready to use for renting a number. If the balance has not moved yet, give it a little time before you try anything else.

Tip: Take a note of the payment reference or transaction ID in case you need it later.

  6. Plan what the balance will cover

Numbers are private and rented for 28 days, with prices from $8 per 28 days, and renewal happens automatically every 28 days while your balance covers it. You can switch renewal off at any time. Numbers are currently available in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Israel, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and United States, so choose a country that suits the platform you plan to use.

  7. Check the number fits your platform first

The rental fee is non-refundable, so it is worth confirming that a number works with the service you intend to use before you rent one. A number receives SMS and calls, and incoming SMS can be forwarded to a Telegram chat or a webhook. Once you are happy, you can manage the number on the website or in Telegram.

Top up with a bank card or cryptocurrency, confirm the balance has moved, then pick a country and rent a number that fits your platform. Keep an eye on your balance if you leave automatic renewal on.

If something goes wrong

The payment went through but the balance has not changed.

Refresh the balance section first, then wait a little while, since some banks and wallets take time to settle. If the figure is still wrong after that, write to contact@sms-activate.bot with the payment reference or transaction ID.

My card was declined.

Check that the card details match the card and that your bank allows online payments. Try again, or use the cryptocurrency option instead.

I am not sure which country to pick.

Look at the countries where numbers are currently available (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Israel, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and United States) and check that the platform you use accepts numbers from that country before you rent. Remember that the rental fee cannot be refunded.
