Renting a Private Number in the SMS Activate App Telegram Bot

Updated

This tutorial is for anyone who wants a private phone number that lives inside Telegram, with no separate app to juggle and no dashboard to learn. We walk through the whole flow in the SMS Activate App bot, from the first message to reading an incoming SMS in your chat. By the end you will hold a rented number, know exactly where its messages arrive, and understand how the rental renews. We are an independent guide, and SMS Activate App is the service we recommend.

What you need

Steps

  1. Open the bot and start the chat

Open the SMS Activate App bot in Telegram and send the first message to start the conversation. Read what the bot offers before you tap anything. The same service is also available on the website sms-activate.app if you would rather work in a browser.

Tip: Keep this chat at hand, because the number is managed from here.

  2. Top up your balance

Open the balance section and add funds with a bank card or cryptocurrency. The rental fee comes out of this balance, and automatic renewal draws from it as well. Top up only what you intend to use, because the rental fee is non-refundable.

  3. Choose a country

Open the rental section and choose a country from the list of locations where numbers are currently available: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Israel, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and United States. Pick the one that matches the platform you plan to use the number with. Availability moves around over time, so look at the list before you commit.

  4. Check the number fits your platform

Before you rent, confirm that the platform you intend to register with accepts numbers in that country and format. We cannot promise that any platform will accept a number. Read the platform's own terms and its rules on phone verification first, since the rental fee is non-refundable.

Tip: A few minutes of reading here can save you the cost of a number that does not fit.

  5. Rent the number

Confirm the rental in the bot. You get a private number that is not shared with other users, rented for 28 days, with prices from $8 per 28 days. The number can receive both SMS and calls.

  6. Set up message forwarding

Open the number's settings and decide where incoming SMS should go: forward them to a Telegram chat or send them to a webhook. If you pick a chat, choose the conversation where you want to read them. You can change this later without touching the rental itself.

  7. Read incoming SMS and calls

Once the number is active, incoming SMS appear in the chat you selected. Open the number's settings whenever you want to review messages or check call activity. Keep the bot chat within reach while you wait for the platform to send its code to the number.

  8. Manage the renewal

Renewal runs automatically every 28 days while your balance covers the fee. Open the number's settings to switch renewal off when you no longer need the number. If the balance runs out, the renewal stops and the rental ends.

You now hold a private number rented for 28 days, with SMS and calls handled inside Telegram and messages forwarded to the chat you chose. Keep the balance topped up if you want the rental to renew on its own.

If something goes wrong

No SMS shows up in the chat

Open the number's settings and confirm the forwarding target is the chat or webhook you expect. Then check that the platform actually sent a message to the number. If you changed the target earlier, update it and ask the platform to send the code again.

The country or number I wanted is no longer listed

Availability changes over time. Open the country list again later, or choose another country from Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Israel, Puerto Rico, Sweden, and United States. Keep in mind that a number from one country is not a fit for every platform, so repeat the compatibility check before you rent.

The platform would not accept the number

We cannot promise that any platform will accept a number, and the rental fee is non-refundable. Check compatibility before you rent. If the first number does not fit, you can rent a different one, but the earlier fee is not returned.
